Development of the new ACCESS 4-H Internet Platform has begun after months of in-depth research and analysis. More than a website, greater than an online portal, ACCESS 4-H will offer a comprehensive set of integrated online applications, services and tools. The goal is to provide the 4-H community with a one-stop Internet home for information, instruction and interaction.

ACCESS at the Galaxy Conference

The ACCESS Team has been exhibiting and talking with 4-H staff members from across the country at the Galaxy Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. We've had volumes of positive reactions to showing off our new draft of the homepage design, page layouts within the site and discussing the many upcoming features of the new 4-H.org.

We had an exhibit setup on Tuesday and Wednesday following our National Advisory Team meeting on Sunday and met many new friends throughout the week. For everyone that spoke with us this week, thanks so much for your enthusiasm!

It's been an exciting and action-packed week, followed by many more action-packed weeks as we move closer to opening the doors to 4-H.org to members of the 4-H community.

ACCESS 4-H and Multimedia

Earlier this month, I started to expand our YouTube presence. Here's a link to our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/access4h
Let us know what you think by commenting here or there. Subscribe to us on YouTube and you'll be the first to know when new ACCESS demo videos are available!

When ACCESS 4-H launches this fall, it will include online multimedia editing tools. So you can use your web browser to edit videos or images and post them within the website. No software necessary! We're looking forward to an official place for you to discover, experience and share your 4-H experience with video!

For now, check out this great video from Oregon State 4-H Leader, Roger Rennekamp as he talks about the excitement of ACCESS 4-H.

ACCESS 4-H Presentations

Jess and I are out in sunny (and hot!) California, at the scenic UC Davis campus, presenting an ACCESS 4-H workshop to some of California's finest 4-H members, staff and volunteers.

I can't believe how far we've come in the last few months. This platform is expanding more with every week... September will be amazing. Each new group that sees our show gets a little more detail, a little more excitement than the group before. Soon we'll have exceeded all expectations.

We're also getting a lot of positive feedback from everyone who's seen one of our sessions. We always end up running out of time.

Do you have a group that would be interested in a virtual meeting with us? Jess and I are working on some web-based video seminars in which we'll be showcasing different components of the ACCESS 4-H system.
